Pairings come from Cooperative Extension companion-planting references and combine both directions — crops this one grows well with, and crops that list it as a companion. Where a pairing appears on both the “good” and “avoid” sides, it is shown as avoid. The strongest, best-supported rules are family rotation and not crowding heavy feeders; many specific pairings are traditional rather than proven.
